THE NATIONAL SPORTING CODE OF THE IGSBRA

        

 

1            Specification: Racers must:

Be made from an issued, cardboard shoe box, approximately 12.5 ins long by 7.25 ins wide and 4.5ins deep weighing less than 7ozs and with removable lid.

Be driven by gravity only

Have four wheels, all having contact with the track

Have wheels that do not protrude beyond the shoebox length

Have wheels attached in any suitable manner

Have a gross maximum weight of 1 lb

2            Specification of the track

Start from a resetable wooden incline, 4ft long and a guided, 22 ins wide.

The incline will run onto a wooden surface, bound at 4ft wide, preferably with a carpeted finish.

A mechanical release will operate from the front edge of the racer.

3            Practice and Scrutineering

entrants will be allowed 1 free practice and final tuning on the course.

The racer must be submitted for scrutineering after practice.

THE RACE

4          All entries must be scrutineered for compliance by the Chief Marshall, then placed in Parc Ferme under the Start Marshall’s control.

Travk Marshal or Chief Marshall only, will be allowed to handle the racers,once they have been released, to return them to Parc Ferme.

Track marshal is responsible for the distance travelled measurement.

The start incline is progressively lowered, in heats, until a winner prevails.

5          Referee

Protests will be handled by the Chief Marshall and the Start Marshall, the Cjief Marshal’s decision shall be final.
