Group Report for February 2010

There was a very good turnout for our annual auction club night. Members brought a varied selection of items which sold well. A big ‘thank you’ goes to Alec Fairbrother who did a great job as the auctioneer; Alec always adds humour to the evening. Well done also to his team of ‘runners’ for a very successful evening.

Tony Johnson had more entries for the Shoe Box March Gravity Race; it should be an exciting evening. Practice runs and scrutinising will start at 7.30pm. I am entering ‘BOX 69’ my car from last year, it will come with many secret adjustments, and I did finish ahead of Ed last year! The room will be set out so that spectators will get a good view of the track so even if you have not entered please come along. The sponsors have once again agreed to support us.

We will miss the Xmas Lunch at Rippingale; we always have a really good time with good food and hospitality.

Work is progressing well on the Trials car, the team of volunteers are pulling things together.

Entries are still coming in for the Sevens To The Sea, we are still sorting out lunch and evening meal menus. Please phone me on 01522 790442 if you need an entry form.

I have written the report this month as the computer broke down and Ed is trying to sort out a new one.
