Whilst the sun streamed down on Ed and Dianne Davies in the Pyrenees and Tony and Brenda Johnson were luxuriating on their cruise, it was left to the Lincolnshire Group to enjoy the delights of alternative weather conditions on their Mystery Run on Wednesday 13th May. The overcast skies and resulting showers did nothing to dampen their enthusiasm and it was encouraging to see the usual stoics rejecting the rumoured comforts afforded by hood erections. After successfully interpreting our MSA approved route instructions, all managed to negotiate the rural lanes and arrive at The Bugle Horn in Bassingham in happy mood, despite one slight error in the instructions.
Peter and Sue Rowlands’ latest acquisition, their 1936 A7 van, just brought back from France, was the subject of much interest and the looks of covetous desire, already observed, makes one question how much more covetous and lustful the looks will become once the restoration is completed: Watch this space!
Another welcome sight was the un-restored Ruby of William and Elizabeth Selka who, having successfully completed the “Sevens to the Sea Run”, enjoyed their first Club Run. They were accompanied by their friend, Derek Hopson, in his Ruby, who is being encouraged to join the Club.
Despite the miserable weather conditions, everyone professed to have enjoyed themselves, even if the beer and chips ruined power to weight ratios for the journeys home! Someone very kindly pointed out that there was a drip at the end of my nose, whilst someone else, less kindly, enquired, “Which end?!”
The June Meeting is our Cultural Visit to the medieval Bishop’s Palace in Lincoln and the conducted tour will start at 7.00PM - meet there. The Palace is located to the south side of Lincoln Cathedral and there is adequate free street parking very close by. As much of the site is in the open air a brolly is recommended should the weather prove inclement.
See our separate advert’ for the Wings and Wheels event on 12th July and obtain your entry forms from Edwin Davies. We have a very exciting programme planned, much of it due to the input of David Porter, the airstrip’s owner.

Back from France! While over there we took the opportunity to visit Keith and Carol Fair. Strong members of the PWA7C they went abroad some years ago. Both fit and well they wish to be remembered to all who knew them. They say French car runs involve more eating and drinking than driving. But they still enjoy them!
BBQ tickets (£5) are also available now; they will be on offer at the all club meetings up to August. See advertisement.
We have had an invitation to attend, with our cars, a School Show at the Tennyson School, Seaholm Road Mablethorpe on the 12th of July. Unfortunately this is the date of our Wings and Wheels event. However anyone requiring details please contact me. The Morgan club are helping organise this event.
