this annual event by the Rover club has become a well attended meeting at this well known WW2 memorial airfield. With a live Lancaster bomber that does engine runs it is a majestic experience. The four Rolls Royce Merlins drum right through you. I was lucky enough to be a passenger on the RAF Lancaster in 1982. It was a magical experience. This was at low level for 30 minutes, Flying at high altitude being shot at for hours on end must have been hell. Why the crews of Bomber Command did not get real recognition beats me.
